Unveiling an Unique Steam Demo: Guiding a Turdy Character with the Goal to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and enthusiasts have encountered a variety of interesting indie games. But, one stands out for its offbeat concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled platformer lets you play a protagonist that is truly a turd striving to make its way to a restroom. For those curious, "Unko" translates to "poop."

How you interact is simple: press a single jump button. In numerous stages, encounter boss fights and access a store to purchase outfits for your poop character.

Plan your movements carefully, as a wrong move means beginning again. Leap off floating orbs to propel the poop upward, cross disappearing surfaces, and interact with switches to reveal hidden paths. Gather coins to purchase more difficult game content where things gets crazy.

Graphically, the experience boasts eye-catching environments and an amazing background music. Its minimalist visual style with moving basic polygons could recall gamers of old favorites like Earthbound.

Although tough to recall similar titles where you play as a coiled turd, video games often incorporated fecal matter. For instance, in Death Stranding, players make throwables from character waste. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use feces as fertilizer. And of course, fecal references is present extensively in the adventure The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its goofy concept, Unko Technica has already garnered notable awards, such as taking top honors at a major publisher's indie contest in 2023. This trial version is available now on Steam, with the final release set to arrive on Steam this November.
