Trevoh Chalobah Set to Replace Guehi in Three Lions National Team

Chelsea defender playing for England

Trevoh Chalobah emulated his brother Nathaniel in representing England, emerging as the twenty-first duo of brothers to play for the national team.

The Chelsea defender is likely to be added to the Three Lions selection to fill in for unavailable Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old is scheduled to link up with the squad for England's remaining World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Serbia, although it has not yet been made public.

The national side have already qualified for next summer's World Cup.

Chalobah was given his maiden call-up under England manager Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then made his debut against Senegal.

In the month of September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unlucky to be left out from the team for qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and additionally did not select him for the subsequent October international break.

Tuchel has been an key presence in Chalobah's career, having handed him his Chelsea debut in the year 2021.

Chalobah has featured in all but four games for Chelsea this season, with the side occupying third spot in the Premier League, in the EFL Cup last eight and in the league phase of the Champions League.

Guehi suffered a foot problem in Crystal Palace's Conference League victory over the Dutch side last week.

There are likely to be further inclusions to the team. Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has said that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) are set to pull out from the England setup.
